Our rootstocks are grown on the fertile young marine clay soils of Flevoland, one of the most fertile agricultural regions in Europe. Thanks to these excellent soil conditions and meticulous cultivation, you can rely on rootstocks of consistent quality that contribute to a reliable start of your crop.
For you this means more certainty, less drop-out and a strong basis for healthy trees and an optimal yield. By maintaining a sharp focus on quality throughout the entire growing process, we deliver rootstocks that meet high standards and are ready to contribute to your growing success straight away.
Naktuinbouw Elite is an exclusive quality and certification system for horticulture. It stands for healthy, disease-free and genetically pure plant material (such as seeds, cuttings and young plants).Our rootstocks come from approved Dutch propagation gardens and are supervised throughout the entire growing process by the Dutch General Inspection Service (NAK). We deliver exclusively NAK-Elite rootstocks. This highest certification class provides additional assurance regarding identity, origin, varietal purity and uniformity of the propagation material. In addition, our rootstocks are grown in a fire-blight-free area.
Part of our rootstocks are grown organically, under SKALSkal Biocontrole is the independent supervisor in the Netherlands that monitors and certifies the entire organic chain. It carries out statutory tasks on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature. supervision. With attention to soil health, biodiversity and natural resilience, we build strong plants and a future-proof crop.

Our quality process
Discover how we work step by step on strong, uniform and healthy rootstocks — season after season.
Throughout the growing season our plots are inspected at least once a week for fungi, diseases, harmful insects and weeds. These frequent checks allow us to identify any issues at an early stage and address them immediately where needed. This ensures the health and quality of the crop are safeguarded throughout the entire season.
A healthy soil is the basis for strong rootstocks. That is why we regularly take and analyse soil samples. Based on these results, fertilisation is precisely matched to the needs of the crop. This approach ensures optimal growth and good development of the root system and plant quality.
After harvest, the rootstocks are stored in modern cold cells with mechanical cooling and humidification. This optimally preserves vitality, moisture content and rooting capacity until the product is delivered. Our rootstocks are available from late October to late April.
For a uniform batch and accurate sizing we use a modern optical grading line. This grades the rootstocks extremely precisely by thickness. As a result we can supply virtually any desired grade, fully tailored to our customers' wishes.
Before the rootstocks leave our farm, they are extensively inspected for rooting, thickness, length, health and varietal purity. This way you are assured of strong, uniform and high-quality rootstocks that provide the best starting position for a successful crop.
